Built for LGBTQIA+ Mental Health, Not Adapted After the Fact
Chroma Wellness Center exists because too many LGBTQIA+ people have been misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or asked to educate their own providers.
We do this work differently.
Our Denver mental health center focuses exclusively on LGBTQIA+ care. That focus shapes everything, from how therapy is delivered to how group spaces are facilitated to how recovery is supported. Identity is not treated as a side note here. It is part of the clinical picture, and it matters.
Clinical services are led by licensed professionals with deep experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, and identity-related stress.
This work is grounded in training, experience, and long-term commitment to the community.
Mental Health & Outpatient Services Available in Denver
At Chroma, care is structured around your level of need. Our two primary programs provide a full continuum of clinical, psychiatric, and holistic support in an affirming environment.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
A structured, daytime program for clients who need intensive support — five days a week, with individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric care, and holistic modalities integrated throughout.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
A flexible but structured program that balances consistent care with work, school, or family responsibilities — designed as a bridge back to daily life without sacrificing clinical depth.
Both programs include:
- Individual and group therapy, including chosen family therapy
- Trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches including IFS, DBT, CBT, and ACT
- Psychiatric medication management with a board-certified psychiatrist
- Addiction and dual-diagnosis support — mental health and substance use addressed together, not separately
- Somatic therapy, acupuncture, mindfulness, yoga, and creative expression
- LGBTQIA+-affirming housing available for clients who need stable support during treatment

Who We Serve in the Denver Area
Our Denver mental health center supports clients from across the metro area, including Denver, Aurora, Glendale, Lakewood, Boulder, and surrounding communities.
Some people come to Chroma after inpatient care. Others come because traditional therapy hasn’t been enough. Many are simply looking for LGBTQIA+ affirming care close to home.
What It’s Like to Start Treatment at Chroma Denver
The first step is a conversation. Not an interrogation. Not a checklist.
We’ll talk through what’s bringing you in, what support might help, and whether IOP, PHP, or another level of care makes sense. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you that honestly.
Group therapy is a core part of both programs. It can feel intimidating at first. Most people tell us it becomes the place they feel the least alone.
